Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Cast and Plot Rumors: Mark Wahlberg - Will Be Biggest Movie of 2014
The highly anticipated blockbuster film Transformers 4: Age of Extinction is finally drawing near as it is set to screen in theaters on June 27. Hasbro and Paramount executives have even gone as far as planning for the franchise's future with additions to the series.
The next installment to the series, a Transformers 5 film, is rumored to be released in 2017, "We're not planning on doing a trilogy. It's really a one-movie-at-a-time philosophy. It feels a little arrogant. Both [director Michael Bay] and I feel like it's a little arrogant of us to presume success each time. We know our fans are really out there and they're going to come, so we presume a certain amount of success. But all the energy will be thrown into the next movie, if we're lucky enough to get there," said producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to tfw2005.com.
The executives and director Bay clarified that they are taking it one movie at a time and will make more movies based on the success of the current one. But for Transformers 4: Age of Extinction it seems as though there will be a next one, a Transformers 5. Mark Whalburg, the latest protagonist of the film has, already given the franchise a different flavor. According to Whalburg on fashionnstyle.com, Transformers 4 will be "the biggest movie of 2014"
Meanwhile screenrant.com gives a glimpse of the movie's plot, "Lockdown will pilot a ship containing decommissioned Transformers. The Dinobots are on this ship and Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will try to revive T-Rex, Grimlock and Pteranodon Swoop. Meanwhile, the presence of the Dinobots might change the minds of Decepticons Ravage, Driller and Scorponok for the better."
Whalberg also added insight on the movie's plot in an interview with IGN, "Recruiting the dinobots - it's pretty elaborate in how it happens, [It's] not like Optimus has a whistle and they come running, he's really got to convince them to come on board and fight this fight, and it's pretty cool how it's done. I think people are definitely going to get their money's worth, it's well worth the wait. And I think, for the die-hard fans, they're going to have a whole new thing to look forward to in the future."
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon was released nearly three years ago (June 28, 2011) and brought in over $1.2 million at the boxoffice.
