Tracy Stuffle Update: As Soon As Blood Clears Putting In Shunt / Benefit Concert Feat. Jason Crabb, Oak Ridge Boys and Booth Brothers
Tracy Stuffle, one of the founding members of acclaimed Southern Gospel vocal group, The Perrys, suffered a stroke in early January. His wife Libbi has been updating the band's Facebook page with news on Tracy's recovery.
Last week, Tracy's cranial pressure spiked, far exceeding healthy amounts. A good pressure is 0-5.
After doctors medically induced Tracy into a coma last Wednesday afternoon, restricting visitors, hoping his ICP would lower with less activity. Tracy's intracranial pressure slowly started to return to normal. Tracy's ICP pressure increased again recently giving cause for concern. Libbi posted these words to her facebook page before taking a much needed rest:
"Today was another quiet day for Tracy. All his vital signs stayed stable. The ICP cranial pressure was for most of the day, between 13 to 20. Not sure why it's been elevated. The EVD drainage cath is still doing its job. His electrolytes are a little high. That's caused from lasiks and sodium. They are trying to get those leveled out. He had a new CT scan and it was better than the last one done last week. We haven't gotten the results of the blood work and culture samples back yet, maybe tomorrow.
Dr. Ulm said he wanted to give him a couple more days and then try to slowly bring him out of sedation. As soon as blood clears we will talk about putting in a shunt."
The Perrys also posted a flyer for a benefit concert scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th, 2013. Along with The Perrys, special guests Booth Brothers, The Bowlings, Dailey & Vincent, The Hoppers, Gold City, Jason Crabb, Oak Ridge Boys, Mark Lowry and the Collingsworth Family will be performing.
All proceeds will go toward Tracy's medical expenses.
Though Tracy is still in critical condition, and cannot accept visitors, those wanting to send cards and flowers can to the address below:
