Tracy Morgan Update Health News: Lawyer Benedict P. Morelli Reveals Comedian's Current Condition (VIDEO)
Comedian Tracy Morgan's attorney Benedict P. Morelli recently disclosed the current status of his famous client after the actor survived a horrific car accident a few months ago.
"He's really having a tough time," said Morelli, to People Magazine. "[He's] struggling."
Morgan and his friends Jeffrey Millea, Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua was severally injured in the vehicle accident, when his limousine was hit by a Walmart tractor-trailer driven by Kevin Roper on June 7.
Unfortunately, Morgan's friend and colleague Jimmy Mack (whose real name was James McNair) was killed in the tragic accident that occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike.
As a result, Wal-Mart issued the following comment after their company's driver, Roper, was charged with assault by auto and vehicular homicide as a result of horrific accident.
"With regards to news reports that suggest Mr. Roper was working for 24 hours, it is our belief that Mr. Roper was operating within the federal hours of service regulations," said Walmart spokesperson Brooke Buchanan in a statement two months ago.
According to the current reports, it will be several months before Morgan can walk again without using a walker, but his lawyer also provided some optimistic news regarding the legendary funnyman.
"He's making incremental progress," said Morelli, to People Magazine, "But they'll have to wait another month before they assess him cognitively."
The 45-year-old New York native is best known for being a cast member on 'Saturday Night Live' from 1996-2003. In addition, Morgan is also known for his role as Tracy Jordan on '30 Rock', which was a parody of himself and his career.
"From what I can tell, he's great. We were talking, and he was like, 'Neal. I mean, the outpouring of love was unbelievable. I mean, the people that reached out to me: Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, the President'" said comedian and 'Chappelle's Show' co-creator Neal Brennan on the 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' show earlier this month, "The fact that Tracy put LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes above the president let's me know that Tracy is back."
