‘Toy Story 4’ Movie News: Director John Lasseter Reveals Plot Details
Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios chief creative officer John Lasseter recently revealed a few latest plot details for 'Toy Story 4' and it seems that the franchise is going "to infinity and beyond!"
According to a report in IB Times, earlier Pixar studio president Jim Morris revealed that the fourth installment of the computer animated films series would be a love story. Now, Lasseter, who is also directing the film, announced on CNBC Friday morning that the plot will revolve around Woody (Tom Hanks) and Bo Peep (Annie Potts)!
Although the recent plot details are thrilling, many have been wondering - where Bo Peep is. Fans of 'Toy Story' will recall some serious flirtation between Woody and Bo Peep in the original film when Woody lends a hand in saving her flock of sheep during play time. Bo Peep had an important role in 'Toy Story 2' too, especially when Woody went missing. However, she was left out of 'Toy Story 3.'
In fact, viewers were made to believe that she was either sold during a yard sale or thrown out. So, fans are now wondering what happened to Bo Peep and how she would be reincorporated into the movie franchise again.
As of now, 'Toy Story' fans know that the fourth movie will not continue where 'Toy Story 3' left off. According to Huffington Post, speaking to Disney Lantino Morris said that the third film released in 2010, actually "completed a trilogy."
Morris revealed, "I think this movie is not part of [that] trilogy," adding, "We are putting together a very nice story. It is not a continuation of the end of 'Toy Story 3.' Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not make much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie."
'Toy Story 4' is set for release on June 16, 2017.
