New reports have surfaced saying the popular BBC automobile show, 'Top Gear', will be returning to the air early next year. Website Topgear Box, laid claim that the show will supposedly air in January, 2015, for Season 22.

Fans and media have spotted the cast of the British TV show filming episodes in different cities and countries around the world. As it stands, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are the hosts for the upcoming season.

They are also updating and giving hints to fans of the show through their personal social media accounts. Clarkson, for instance, told fans on Twitter that they were on a road trip to Rome from Siena in Italy. The Alfa Romeo 4C and C7 Stingrays were the vehicles used to travel between the locations.

He also revealed that Morocco was the first country they traveled to for the upcoming season.

Another location the cast was spotted in was Venice, where they were seen on a speedboat. They were also caught riding refurbished ambulances near Shephard's Bush in London in late July.

This seemed to be confirmed by the owner of Lydd Car Breakers salvage yard, where the crew collected 25 automobiles for use.

A racing segment was reportedly being filmed in St. Petersburg, Russia as well. Spectators saw the trio using different vehicles for the race.

'Top Gear' was also seen shooting in Argentina, allegedly for a two-hour Christmas special. However, filming in the country was surrounded by controversy as they had a run-in with the officials.

They were using a vehicle with a license plate number allegedly referencing the Falklands War in 1982. While on a section of the Patagonian highway, they were stopped by the authorities and asked to leave the vehicles.

They were escorted straight to the airport and told to the leave the country right away.

Executive producer Andy Wilman said in a blog post that the incident in Argentina was not a gimmick for the show, stating that "we didn't put that number plate on deliberately." Clarkson echoed Wilman's sentiments on Twitter as well.
