Ah, yes. Valentine's Day. It's that time of year when everything is given a rosy tint and chocolate becomes its own food group. Back in elementary school, when Valentine's Day meant dozens of cartoon character-emblazoned cards from classmates and enough candy "Be Mine" hearts to fill a school bus, everyone could join in the fun. 

As an adult, though, February 14 is all about candlelit dinners for two and (generally) not too enjoyable for the unattached. 1. eHarmony

No, eHarmony is not a "Christian" dating site. But the company's site does say that it is "committed to helping Christian singles find love every day," and if you're really serious about finding the man or woman of your dreams on the World Wide Web, it pays to go with the big guns. eHarmony is the largest online dating site, with over 2 million users, which means that you'll have considerably more options when you're sifting through the pool of college-educated men with black hair and green eyes that have a dog named Sparky and live exactly two miles from the public library in downtown Nashville. Lots of paid - and satisfied - customers also offers a bit of reassurance when it's time to fork over the monthly fee. Because nobody likes a scam.

2. Christian Cafe

Membership numbers are not as high as with one of the main dating sites like eHarmony, but if you're looking for an exclusively Christian dating site, Christian Cafe is likely the best option. The site is owned by a Christian company and, through a partnership with Focus on the Family, membership is supplemented with Christian articles and dating/relationship advice. Christian Cafe also a great option for those short on cash, as the free trial period actually provides full access to the site. It's only three days long, so you have to move pretty quickly, but there are no issues with reduced access of usability as with trial periods on other sites. User QuietGrace, who found her husband on Christian Cafe (and is listed as a success story on the site) also appreciated the ability to sort prospects by denomination. "My denomination is small and I didn't want to go through hundreds of profile to determine who is from my denomination," she wrote in a review on SingleRoots.com. "With CC's denomination search option, I didn't have to and it saved me hours, if not days, spent in searching and screening profiles." 

3. Match.com

Like eHarmony, Match.com is a site geared toward the mainstream instead of only Christian users. The site doesn't offer as many Christian filters as eHarmony or Christian Cafe, but its status as one of the largest and longest running online dating services again means plenty of options. Even those in remote or rural locales should have a fairly easy time finding good prospects. At the very least, members can use their profile to be clear about their interests and desire to find someone with a shared faith. Some added pluses over eHarmony are the facts that Match.com's monthly membership is about half the price and the set-up process, and paid users have full access to the entire database of members - not a pre-selected allotment of daily matches.
