Tomb Raider Mac Version Now Available in App Store for $49.99

The Tomb Raider reboot is now available in the Mac App Store today, and will head to retailers on Jan. 30.

Crystal Dynamic's update of the game is $49.99, and the Tomb Raider DLC Collection is just $19.99, which will bring the gamer up to date on all of the add ons and extra features for the game.

According to Polygon the online multiplayer version of the game requires a Steam account and works on Mac to Mac play.

The minimum requirements for the game are:

OS: Mac X 10.9.1
Processor: 2 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Hard Disk: 14 GB
Graphics: 512 MB

A new version of this game is coming to the next-gen consoles and is called, Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition.

"Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is not participating in an upgrade program. The game will retail for $59.99 in North America. Check with your local retailer for price points across Europe," read an FAQ on the Tomb Raider site, confirming that the next-gen versions of the game will be their own games.

In addition to this, Square Enix also said old save files of the previous game will not be compatible with the new game, so all achievements, unlockables, and bonus content will have to start from scratch if a gamer decides to go next-gen. However, according to Polygon, the Definitive Edition will feature new content as well as a redesigned Lara Croft, native 1080p resolution, and support from Vita Remote Play and the Kinect.

The game is slated for a Jan. 28 release in North America and Jan. 31 in Europe according to its announcement at VGX 2013. The original version of the game was released on March 5 of 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
