Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes News: Two Years After the Divorce, Couple Maintain Civility

After testifying in court for his divorce hearing last year, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has seemed to have fallen off the radar somewhat. While his estranged wife, Katie Holmes has been regularly seen out and about and seemingly happy, the actor has been much more low key.

Meanwhile, Holmes, in an exclusive report by Us Weekly, is said to have been planning a move to a $4 million Midtown New York apartment from her equally expensive Chelsea Manhattan suite with the former couple's daughter, Suri, who is now eight years old.

In their divorce trial last year, it was rumored that Holmes filed for divorce to protect their daughter from Scientology. Cruise has been an active follower of the religion since 1990. Whether that was indeed a reason for the divorce, and whether other circumstances also played into the split remains speculation though, and the couple have been conscious to maintain civility for their young daughter Suri throughout their split.

Last year, Cruise filed a $50 million lawsuit against Bauer Publishing for the latter's publication of materials claiming that the actor abandoned daughter Suri. The 52-year-old actor called the allegations 'patently false' and denied that he has in any way abandoned his daughter.

Meanwhile, regarding Cruise's career, there have recently been reports about the fifth installment of his hit movie franchise, 'Mission Impossible'. It was earlier announced that Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson will be playing the lead female role. Rumor has it that three-time Golden-Globe-award-winning actor Alec Baldwin will also be joining the movie which is expected to premiere in December of 2015.
