Tom Clancy’s ‘The Division’ Release Date: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Ubisoft Announces 2015 Launch

French multinational video game developer Ubisoft Games has just announced that it will be releasing Tom Clancy's 'The Division' developed by Massive Entertainment for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2015.

Addressing the agents, a post on the developer's website says, "Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don't want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it's ready."

It goes on to add, "We want to thank you again for the exceptional ongoing support. Community is at the heart of what we are doing and we're very much designing the game with you in mind, so your involvement means a lot to us."

Meanwhile, a report from IGN says that the online shooting game is set in New York, three weeks after a viral epidemic breaks out. The virus was released on Black Friday. The basic services in the city collapse one by one, and the society is in chaos. This results in the President invoking Presidential Directive 51, and launches of a top-secret unit of self-supporting tactical agents called, The Division. The Division agents, who apparently lead a common life, are trained to operate independently of command in this kind of emergency situation. The mission begins once the lights go out.

The game enables the players to explore the once-familiar streets and landmarks of the Big Apple, now destroyed by looting and infested by clans that will do anything to survive. No place in the city - from the Central Park to the subway to the Statue of Liberty is safe. 'The Division' presents Tom Clancy's universe, which is dedicated to realism, and provides the players an opportunity to discover an unrelenting, online, open-world New York where exploration, fighting, and RPG player-progression are indispensable.
