Tim Tebow Opens Foundation to Help Victims of Typhoon Haiyan in His Birth Place, the Philippines
Tim Tebow isn't throwing touchdown passes in the NFL anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't score big elsewhere. The former quarterback and longtime evangelical has opened his foundation to support his place of birth, the Phillipines, to help out with victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
According to First Coast News, the Tim Tebow Foundation has created a donation link on its official website to help collect funds for those suffering from the recent disaster in the Phillipines.
They are currently teaming with CURE International to fund an orthopedic children's hospital in Davao City. He's also joining with his father's foundation, the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association to help organize better orphan care in the region.
What many don't know about the Jacksonville native is that he was actually born in the Phillipines. Back in 1985, his mother [of four at the time] contracted amoebic dysentery and fell into a coma. What Pam Tebow didn't know is that she was pregnant with another baby. The doctor at hand advised Pam should have an abortion. She refused, and the rest, as they say, is history.
