Tim Tebow News: Ex-NFL QB Plans on Adopting a Child

Tim Tebow has never been ashamed about revealing things about his personal life, especially when it comes to his Christian faith. Now, the former NFL QB revealed in a recent interview what he plans to do when he starts a family with his future wife.

"When I have a family someday, I'll probably adopt," said Tebow to People Magazine. "Adoption has always been something close to my heart. There are so many kids out there who really need a family."

He made that revelation when he hosted the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic on March 15. Tebow further expressed his thoughts to People Magazine.

"I believe that everyone, regardless of who they are, should do something that is greater than themselves," said 26-year old ex-Heisman Trophy winner to People's Magazine. "Whether it's adoption, or helping people who are sick, or poor, or whatever. That's what God put us on this earth to do."

Tebow also told People Magazine that he still plans on returning to the NFL as a QB but he knows what's more important than fortune and fame.

"I'm even more passionate about my foundation and the difference that we're making all around the world," said Tebow to People. "That's what gets me excited. That's what it's all about. I want to improve as a football player, but even more importantly, I really want to improve as a person."

The former and New York Jets and Denver Broncos athlete was released by the New England Patriots during the 2013 NFL preseason and did not find a new squad during the regular season. Tebow signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to work for the SEC Network, which will debut in August 2014. Tebow has played three seasons in the NFL, his best coming with Broncos in 2011, when he threw for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns.
