Tonight, the Detroit Tigers begin a three game series against AL rivals the Orioles in Baltimore. Tigers ace Max Scherzer, whose been red hot this season, isn't concerned with his own personal stats as long as he's helping his team win games.

"If I was 0-7 but pitching well and giving the team a chance to win, I'd still be as proud of that,'' said Scherzer. "For me, it's all about going out there and making sure that I'm pitching deep into games and keeping their offense down, and I've been doing that for the most part.''

Scherzer is 2-1, with an ERA just under 5 against the Baltimore Orioles. If Scherezer is going to win his eighth game this season he'll need some support from the lineup. Unfortunately the Tigers are coming off a sweep from the Pirates [2 of those games the Tigers were shut out].

Miguel Gonzales will have his work cut out for him pitching against Miguel Cabrera and the rest of the Tigers lineup. Last year's Triple Crown winner [forgot they even had that award], Cabrera has been unstoppable in the month of May. Him and Orioles 1B Chris Davis have been vying for the number one slot in all three of the major hitting categories. Though Davis has 19 to Cabrera's 15 homeruns, the Tigers slugger leads Davis in batting average and RBIs.
