BreatheCast is taking a glimpse back at some of the most popular songs in the 80s and 90s on today's Throwback Thursday.
"Stomp" - Kirk Franklin
One of Kirk Franklin's biggest songs, "Stomp," was released in 1996. It was led by Franklin and performed by gospel group God's Property featuring Cheryl James. It was one of the most successful gospel songs of the 1990s, charting on Billboard's mainstream R&B airplay list in 1997.
"DC Talk?" - Consume Me
This popular tune, "Consume Me" was on DC Talk's fifth studio album, Supernatural. The album debuted on the US Billboard Charts at No. 4 and followed the band's best-selling album Jesus Freak.
EL SHADDAI - AMY GRANT
Singer Amy Grant, recorded this worshipful song on her 1982 platinum album, Age to Age. Michael Card originally recorded the song for his 1981 debut album, Legacy. Written by Card and John Thompson, the song is inspired by direct quotes from scripture.
"On My Knees" - Jaci Velasquez
"On My Knees" is considered one of the top Christian Songs of the 90s. Contemporary Christian and Latin pop singer Jaci Valasquez later used the song title for her album On My Knees: The Best of Jaci Velasquez.
