"Thor: The Dark World" Movie Critic Review and Synopsis
One of the most anticipated movies of 2013, "Thor: The Dark World" was released into theatres last week and was the highest earning Top Box Office movie. The movie that earned over $85.7 million, is about Thor and his brother, Loki, joining forces to save the nine realms from destruction. Thor embarks on a journey to save his planet as he must regain his trust for Loki after what he did during the "Avengers" movie. During previews, Thor goes to the prison where Loki is being held and asks for his help, when Loki laughs in his face and asks, "Why would I help you?". Thor then explains what is happening outside the prison and promises Loki his freedom, but if he is to wrong him, Thor will kill him in an instant. The battle between an ancient race led by Malekith, is set out to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot conquer, Thor must embark on the most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with his love, Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all and the nine realms.
Featuring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, and Tom Hiddelston, this action packed movie has seen some semi-good reviews. Ranking at only a %65 on Rotten Tomatoe, critis are saying that "Thor: The Dark World" is not living up to the Marvel expectations. "Better than average, the second in the "Thor" franchise isn't as interesting as other Marvel tales" stated LInda Cook, from Quad City Times. Examiner.com was a little bit nicer to the production of the film stating that fans of the first "Thor" will still enjoy the Marvel favorite. "Thor: The Dark World is visually enticing, but in a more ominous way than in the first film. With extraordinary special effects, Thor: The Dark World is sure to be well-liked by those who loved the first film yet isn't nearly as well done." Fans overall gave "Thor: The Dark World" a rank of %85, stating that it was a must-see movie and one of the best of 2013. "Thor:The Dark World" is in theatres now, and is rated PG-13.
