Fans of the popular daytime soap 'The Young and the Restless' have been waiting for Michael Muhney's replacement to be revealed. Recent reports state that a new actor will not be cast to take over the role for another three months.

Everyone living in the show's Genoa City believe the character to be dead, but the show has been using clips of the character's hands as a temporary replacement for over a month now. Each and every time, fans hope that the camera will pan up and finally reveal an actor.

Spoilers have been released disappointing fans who want to see Adam Newman return to the show. Apparently, the new cast member has not been cast, and what's more is that scenes for Adam Newman are not even in the story yet. Soaps in Depth spoke with CBS Executive Agelica McDaniel who had this to say about the script, "The summers almost all written, so basically we are in to the fall storylines now. You're going to have to wait a little longer."

Sadly, the show's rating have been plummeting since the Adam's disappearance last January. Many speculate that bringing him back onto the show would revive the dying program, but apparently that's not a high priority for the show's producers. Perhaps they don't want to undershoot fans expectations by bringing Adam back in the wrong fashion. That could be detrimental,and not only kill the show, but bury it for good.

A fan on Soap Opera Spy's Facebook had this to say on the matter, "i am so over who is going to be the next adam newman - i feel sorry for who ever gets the job because the loyal fans of michael muhney will not accept them in the role anyway - it will be a major hate fest going on because they will compare them with michael even down to the way the new actor blinks his eyes...."

Fans of the show should forget about Adam Newman for now, and embrace a full surprise when he eventually returns.
