Gripping and heart-stopping scenes of Paul's fight to survive made up most of last week's episode of The Young and the Restless. Eileen Davidson is set to reprise the role of Ashley Scott which excites fans, but may not be enough to overcast the show's loss of Michael Muhney.

This week began with viewers on the edge of their seats as they watched Paul's health deteriorate before their very eyes.

Fans were relieved to learn that hope is imminent due to Dylan's organ donation towards the surgical procedure. Still, many speculate that whatever the outcome, one character is expected to bid farewell to the show.

The Young and the Restless production team, in an attempt to appeal to fan based demand, confirmed Davidson's return to the show as Ashley Abbot. However, Celebrity Dirty Laundry wrote that despite the actress' talent, her role on Y&R simply will not replace Michel Muhney, Michelle Stafford, and Billy Miller.

Rumor has it that executive producer Jill Farren Phelps cast Davidson not for her acting abilities, but for the need to fill a gaping hole evident in the show.

The next episode will focus on Stitch and his confrontation of Victoria about a well-kept secret.

The Young and the Restless airs on CBS from Monday through Friday at 12:30 PM.
