‘The Young and Restless' Spoilers: Justin Hartley to Replace Michael Muhney as Adam Newman

Adam Newman is finally returning to the CBS soap, 'The Young and Restless', but this time, a new actor will take on the role. As Michael Muhney leaves the show for good, Justin Hartley is willing to replace him on the cast list.

Over the last few months, the soap revealed to the fans that Adam Newman is alive and well, but the other characters were not aware. Now that a new actor has been cast for the role, the infamous "hands and arms" scenes will finally cease.

Since Muhney was let go earlier this year, fans have been searching for clues as to who will replace him. Some fans feel that Muhney should go on and continue to play the role, but that's not going to happen.

Unfortunately, Muhney announced on his Twitter account that he is no longer returning to the show and he is "moving on" into another chapter of his life.

On the bright side, the production team has finally selected a replacement, and made the official announcement about it on August 19.

Justin Hartley is known for his roles on 'Smallville' and ABC's 'Revenge'. He also did a couple of guest appearances on 'Hart of Dixie', 'Chuck', 'Owens MD' and 'Castle'.

He currently plays a role on the drama, 'Mistresses', as Joss' new fiancé.

Hartley told TV Guide how excited he is to fill a spot on the 'The Young and Restless' soap opera.

"I'm so pumped about joining Y&R - I watch it all the time and can't wait to get in there and get my hands dirty! I have great respect for daytime drama. I love the branding. I love the style. What can I say? I love good soap!" he said.
