The Witcher Adventure Game, Closed Beta Keys Launch & Video Trailer, Windows and Mac OS X

Today marks the day for the announcement of the launch of The Witcher Adventure Game's closed multiplayer beta release on Widows and Mac OS X.

Those participating in the closed beta program will be some of the first ever to help test, refine, and debug some of the multiplayer features in the upcoming title.

Beta access keys will be sent out today, but are limited to those who have already pre-ordered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com. Beyond that, not everyone who pre-ordered the game will receive a key, only select recipients will be chosen for the grand opportunity.

On a positive note, more access codes will be released in batches planned for future events, and players who are interested in participating in additional closed beta testing can still sign up for the chance on GOG.com/Galaxy.

The Witcher Adventure Game allows players to journey across the world of the Witcher, and assume the following four roles from the book series and video games: Geralt of Rivia, the monster slayer, Triss Merigold, a cunning sorceress, Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior, and Dandelion, the roguish bard.

The beta was launched to test both The Witcher Adventure Game as well as some parts of the GOG Galaxy online infrastructure, which powers the multiplayer portion of the digital board game. Lucky participants will help add new cards, mechanics, and improvements to aid in providing an overall polish to the game during the course of the beta.

While the beta is limited to the online portion of the game, the full game is set to feature single-player modes such as "hot seat" and "human vs AI". Fans of The Witcher can rest assured that their iconic characters will be playable on and offline.

The Witcher Adventure Game is slated to release to the masses sometime this year, 2014.
