'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers, Daryl Dies Rumors: Creator Robert Kirkman Reveals Major Plot Twist (TRAILER)

In latest 'Walking Dead' news, series creator Robert Kirkland revealed a major spoiler regarding fan favorite zombie hunter Daryl Dixon in the upcoming fifth season.

"All I can say is that it's been discussed. We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality and if there's ever a quiet period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by crossbowing... we'll tackle it in the show," said Kirkman after a fan asked him in a letter column if the popular character is a gay man since he has never been involved in a relationship on the long running series.

Kirkman also made the following statement regarding Daryl's sexual preference and whether or not AMC network would have a problem with that in the storyline.

"For the record, they absolutely would," said Kirkman to a fan of the horror drama series.

In addition, Kirkman previously addressed the rumors that Daryl's character would be killed off in the forthcoming season.

"There's a lot going on with Terminus. In our premiere episode of season 5 we're going to give a ton of answers of who the people of Terminus are, what they're doing, why they're doing it, what's going on with them," said Kirkman to Entertainment Weekly in late June.

"And by the end of that episode you're going to have a much better understanding of what's going on with them and why they're so important to the show. Oh, and Daryl dies," he added.

'The Walking Dead' star Norman Reedus recently went on social media after the Season 5 poster did not feature his character Daryl, which further ignited rumors that his role would be murdered.

"Just wanted to say thank you for all the nice people that are waiting outside of set when we get off work . thank you guys for all the love," wrote Reedus via Twitter on August 6.

'The Walking Dead' Season 5 is slated to return on October 12, 2014 at 9 pm on the AMC network.
