A huge explosion and heartbreak await fans of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, which is set to return tonight on The CW.

Spoilers for the 16^th episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 reveal that a huge car explosion will happen, and everybody has yet to know if anyone is going to get killed in the blast. However, based on a recent interview with Ian Somerhalder, this episode will leave fans in doldrums.

"This car blew up and I was 200 feet away and I could still feel the heat and the percussion from this thing. The audience isn't going to get the blast that I felt. What they're going to feel is real heartbreak for why that explosion happened," said Somerhalder in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Teasers for the upcoming episode also reveal that Damon will go to great lengths just to patch things up with his brother, Stefan Salvatore. In an attempt to fix things with him, he will offer to have Stefan's scar transferred to him through magic, only to find out that doing so may involve consequences.

 "With time running out and Rayna closing in on Stefan, Valerie desperately attempts to reason with Damon before it's too late. Elsewhere, after being framed for breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora forces him to make an upsetting discover," the trailer reveals.

In other news, Somerhalder recently signed a new contract for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, ending speculations that he is leaving the series.
