"The Vampire Diaries" returns on Thursday in a brand new episode where it appears Elena Gilbert and vampire brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore take an impromptu ski trip to flee from The Travelers trying to kill them.

"You and I and our ex-girlfriend are gonna go on a little skip-it trip," said Damon to Stefan in the video for Thursday's episode.

"Sounds great," Stefan replied.

The newest episode is called "What Lies Beneath," where the trio are living together in an abandoned cabin owned by Caroline's dad despite the fact Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are both uncomfortable being next to each other after their recent breakup.

"I'm supposed to be avoiding you," said Damon to Elena at the secluded cabin in the promo.

"Is that still what you want?" Elena requested.

In the video, it shows someone trying to drown Elena in a bathtub in the upcoming episode. That undead person trying to kill Elena could be Enzo (Michael Malarkey) or Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) since Markos definitely wants the three protagonists dead.

"Find me the doppelgangers," said Markos to the Travelers in the video.

In addition, Elena's best friend (a deceased witch who is now a ghost) Bonnie (played by Kat Graham) does not want to tell Elena's younger brother Jeremy about the Other Side. Jeremy has the ability to communicate with the dead because he was briefly killed last season before he was resurrected by Bonnie in Season 4 finale episode.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW network. The Season finale of 'The Vampire Diaries' will air on May 15, 2014.
