The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Finale takes place on Thursday night, with the new episode titled "Home" set to leave fans on the edge of their seats. Damon and Elena will seek revenge after the shocking murder of the honorable vampire Stefan in last week's episode, and fans will be desperate to see what happens in the aftermath.

Thursday night's episode will start at 8 p.m. ET and can be viewed online through live stream via the link provided below.

"The Vampire Diaries"Executive producer Caroline Dries hints that there will be multiple permanent deaths in the Season 5 Finale episode.

"I can think of three, off-hand," said Dries to TV Guide.

Ian Somerhalder (who plays as the undead anti-hero Damon) echoes Dries sentiments.

"Stakes will be raised," said Somerhalder. "When people die this time, they will stay dead."

Ironically, some experts speculate fan favorite anti-hero Damon will die in the upcoming last episode of Season 5.

"The Vampire Diaries Season 5 wraps in 24 hours," wrote Ian Somerhalder, who plays vampire Damon Salvatore, on Instagram after the cast finished shooting their final scenes recently. "Thank you for 5 amazing seasons!! Sitting with @Julieplec- she thanks and loves you all..."

In addition, the official summary to the upcoming episode also suggests that Jullian/Tyler will become the first casualty of Markos taking control of the city.

"Sheriff Forbes is horrified when Markos uses violence against Tyler/Julian to prove that Mystic Falls is now under the control of the Travelers," according to the outline.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is expected to start in either September or October.
