‘The Sims 4’ Release Date, New Trailer Video: Smarter Sims and Weirder Stories

Based on the most recent trailer for The Sims 4, EA will release its flagship simulation game on September 2, with smarter Sims and even weirder stories. Despite popular demand, developer Sarah Holding tweeted that players will still not be able to build apartments, but should expect other new features and capabilities.

According to The Sims 4 executive producer Rachel Franklin, the latest game will have "brand new Sims whose traits, emotions, and aspirations combine to define more meaningful personalities than you've ever played with before." She told PC Gamer, that players "decide not only what they look like, but more importantly, who they are. The combination of these new Sims, our powerful new creative tools, and the all-new Gallery add up to the best game we've ever made."

A lot of new The Sims 4 features were demonstrated at the recently concluded E3 in California, such as emotions influenced not only by a Sim's personality, but through interaction with their neighborhood as well. Trusted Reviews wrote that simply by doing basic activities and talking to other Sims, players can unlock other themed actions like "peeved push-ups, sit-ups, or fury."

Limited collectibles and secrets are also accessible through brand new neighborhoods like Willow Creek and Magnolia Blossom Park, designed with stunning plant life as a backdrop for the Sims community, Trusted Reviews mentioned.

The Sims 4 is now available for pre-order on Origin at $59.99 for the Limited Edition and $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition.
