The Seventh Son Movie Release Date and Plot: Stretch From Novel 'The Spook's Apprentice'?
The release date for the most awaited fantasy film 'The Seventh Son' was pushed back yet again from February 2014 to February 26, 2015. The film features big named celebrities like Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges.
The film had been delayed twice already for several reasons previously reported. According to sources, the recent end of Legendary Pictures' partnership with Warner Bros has caused 'The Seventh Son' to change its release dates with Universal Pictures taking charge of distribution after signing a new deal with Legendary. Finally, the production announces the official and hopefully last scheduled premiere date for the film.
'The Seventh Son' is said to be a movie to look forward to. It is directed by Sergei Bodrov with Matt Greenberg, Charles Leavitt and Aaron Guzikowski as screenwriters.
The upcoming film is an exciting one since it is the reunion of Bridges and Moore since 'The Big Lebowski'. Bridges will play Master Gregory, the mentor to a talented young man called Tom Ward played by Ben Barnes with the potential to become a 'Spook' which is a fighter of demonic creatures and magic. Moore is a witch named Mother Malkin who is the evil that the protagonists have to overcome.
The "Seventh Son" in the film is Barnes who is trained by Bridges' character as he is a jaded and mysterious knight and part of an order that recognizes people who are the seventh son's of the seventh son in their family.
It is quite an intriguing film, but those who have already read the novel 'The Spook's Apprentice' written by Joseph Delaney, will have a general idea about how the movie ends. Although there had been reports that say the film will somehow have a different approach from the book, it is still unknown as to the extent of the film's diversion from the text. The shifting of the title may be one great signal to the fans that it may have some significant changes.
