'The Originals' Spoilers Season 2 Release Date: Comic Con 2014 Appearance, New 3-Book Deal

'The Originals' which is a spinoff from 'The Vampire Diaries' is about to venture into its second season. Season 1 turned over some high ratings and viewership, so a renewal of the show came as no shock. Recently, the show has also scored a three book series deal.

According to Media Bistro, Harlequin has solidified a contract with Allow Entertainment's Hayley Wagreich and Josh Bank for a three book series for the popular spinoff.

The stories will involve the original vampires, the Mikaelson family. They will be crucial characters in the triple edition series, and sources say they are not the only ones to be central in the story plots. Wet Paint says that Klaus is going vital to the book series' storyline.

Beyond the new books, the cast of 'The Originals' is set to appear at Comic Con this year. They will be sitting on a panel during the event on July 25 at 4:15 pm. The cast members set to show up are, Joseph Morgan (Klaus), Daniel Gillies(Elijah), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), Charles Michael Davis (Marcel), Leah Pipes (Cami) and Danielle Campbell (Davina). Steven Krueger (Josh) and Claire Holt (Rebekah). Beside the actor/actresses, Executive Producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci will also be in attendance.

On a side note, for fans who are still interested in 'The Vampire Diaries', the cast of that show will make an appearance at Comic Con as well. However, they are set to form a panel of cast members on Saturday afternoon.

CW Network will air the Season 2 premiere on October 6 at 8 pm.
