'The Mighty Ducks 4' Release Date News, Plot Rumors: Coach Gordon Bombay Dies? Final Installment in Franchise Would Be Darker
'The Mighty Ducks', the sensational animated and live-action film series famous in the 1990's and produced by Walt Disney, might make a comeback with a possible fourth installment film entitled, 'The Mighty Ducks 4'.
Time Magazine held an interview with the entire cast and crew of the original movie, which was done to commemorate the film's 22nd anniversary and the 18th year since its latest installment, Ducks executive producer Jordan Kerner stated that spoke with Disney regarding a possible Mighty Ducks comeback.
Kerner further disclosed that around two or three times he was offered a story plot for the film, but hasn't found the right one yet. According to Kerner, Disney has instructed him reconnect with them once he finds the best-fitting story for the franchise.
The producer also added that 'The Mighty Ducks' team has found it best if one or two of the actors in the original film would be playing important roles in the proposed movie, most likely coaches or parents and friends to the new generation of Ducks who will be taking over the film.
'The Mighty Ducks' producer also mentioned that he has thought about basing the final franchise chapter on a Championship Season, and would add more dramatic and dark scenes than the previous films, with the possible death of the character, Gordon Bombay. Kerner also mentioned that he would want to pair off each original Ducks actor with a present-day counterpart.
Although the film's executive producer seems to have already planned out 'The Mighty Ducks 4', he also affirmed that fans should not expect the film to step into production anytime soon, but nevertheless, a fourth installment to the iconic movie is highly possible.
