'The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D' Release Date: Nintendo Confirms U.K. Launch in Spring 2015 [VIDEO]
It has been confirmed that Nintendo will release N64's classic 'The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask', for the company's portable console- as the 'The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D' in the United Kingdom in Spring, 2015. This was announced by the Japanese game developer at a Nintendo Direct presentation recently.
However, the company has yet to confirm the game's release date for the United States.
In addition, Nintendo will roll out a special 'Majora's Mask' collector's edition. It will comprise a double-sided poster, an ornamented steel case, as well as a jewelry box.
The original game, 'The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask ' was released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. It was an instant hit, selling a whopping 314,000 copies during its first week in Japan, and a total of 3 million worldwide. In 2009, Nintendo released the game for the Wii's Virtual Console service.
The 'Majora's Mask' is the sixth installment of the super popular 'Legend of Zelda' series. The story of the game revolves around Zelda protagonist Link, who possesses the capability to transform into different beings making use of a variety of masks. The title has been acclaimed universally, earning a score of 95/ 100 on Metacritic.
Another report quotes Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, explaining that the new 'Majora's Mask' is not just a "remake". He said that it is a more ambitious game, and Nintendo has been working on the title since in June 2011, after the completion of 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D'.
Aonuma went on to add, "So although we've been working on the game for quite some time, we didn't want to say it was being developed until we were at a point where we could proudly say that this is not going to be just another remake and that it's going to be worth your time."
According to the game producer, the development team has spent much time on the port to ensure that the gameplay experience is smoother compared to the 2000 original. However, they've made sure to retain its unique world, which is darker in comparison to other Zelda games.
