The Leftovers Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: Emily Meade Gives Insight Into Show's Direction

Actress Emily Meade made sure that fans will remain glued to their seats for HBO's newest drama, The Leftovers, in a recent interview.

After the premiere episode aired, speculations started swirling around that show's principal plot of 3 million people vanishing is caused by what is known in the Bible as the Rapture.

The received great reviews and high viewership. The Leftovers follows Police Chief Garvey, played by Justin Theroux, his daughter Jill, played by Margaret Qualley, and Jill's best friend Aimee.

The story line, however, is not the only thing that keeps many viewers excited for the upcoming episodes.

Meade, who plays the role of Aimee, also caught the attention of many viewers due to her attractiveness, but the 25-year-old actress quickly pointed out that there's more to her character besides her physical appeal.

"I had a conversation with Damon (Lindelof, the co-creator of the show) where I said, 'I don't want to be the girl you tune in to see her b**bs every week. I had no interest in that. I wasn't sure if her character was just supposed to be like the sexual part of the show and kind of one-noted. Surprisingly, he gave me his word that wasn't it and to trust him, so I did," Meade told Zap2it website.

The actress also touched on the palpable attraction between her character and the character played by Theroux, saying it "isn't crazy" to think that there is sexual tension between the two.

The Leftovers airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
