Chandler will continue working on his mission in episode 5 of "The Last Ship" season 3.

Based on the official synopsis, episode 5 will follow Chandler as he attempts to deal with the enemies in Asia while the situation in the east continues to get worse. However, he has to brace up for a bumpy ride ahead as his path will be full of stumbling blocks. 

Titled "Minefield," the episode offers a whole lot of new dangers for the characters, especially for Chandler and President Michener. While things will get so much worse than better for Chandler, President Michener will have to deal with the censures thrown to him following the kidnapping incident in the previous episode.

The synopsis for the episode says, "Chandler's mission becomes complicated as his position is worsened. President Michener faces pressure from the regional leaders."

In the upcoming episode, President Michener will struggle as regional leaders pressurize him for help.

In a recent interview with Buddy TV, showrunner Hand Steinberg and actor Jocko Sims behind the character of Lt. Carlton Burk revealed some things about the upcoming episodes of the series.

"In season 3, the storyline is split between the action in Asia and the Presidency in the new White House in St. Louis. The drama is between geo-political issues of how to hold the country together and the question of how many resources should we give to saving the rest of the world when America is stretched very thin and trying to repair itself," said Steinberg.

"The Last Ship" season 3 episode 5 airs July 10 on TNT.
