‘The Judge’ Movie Spoilers & Trailer: Robert Downey Jr. Takes on Big City Lawyer Role [VIDEO]

'The Judge' will feature the 'Iron Man' bad boy Robert Downey Jr. as a rough and tough city lawyer. Downey says this is the kind of movie he grew up wanting to make.

Warner Brothers joins Roadshow Pictures to produce this upcoming blockbuster. It is about an elite lawyer, Hank Palmer, who went to his hometown to help his estranged father who is a suspect in the murder of his mother.

Upon arrival he notices that his father is suffering from Alzheimer. His father, once a judge, is well known by the townsfolk, and as Palmer investigates he slowly uncovers more and more about his family's lineage.

The trailer for the film was released last month and provides more insight into the film by the things Palmer is saying, sometimes you need to forgive in order to be forgiven."

This line eludes to the idea that Palmer is reconciling with his estranged father and finally patching things up.

"My father is a lot of unpleasant things but murderer isn't one of them," says Palmer in the trailer, this shows how the opposition is relentless and tries to place the burden of murder on the father's dead.

The trailer adds to the drama of the film by showing a scene where the father shouts, "I did what I thought was right!"

In the final scene of the trailer, the father says to his son, "You and I are officially done," to which Palmer replies "Oh, we're not done."

The judge, Palmer's father, will be played by the legendary Robert Duvall. The movie is set to release on October 10.
