'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' Spoilers: Francis Lawrence Talks Final ‘Hunger Games’ Film
In the last chapter of the iconic 'Hunger Games' series, Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen and her friends finally get to take revenge against the ruthless President Snow.
In 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2', which is set to be released on November 20th, Katniss has her allies by her side, the males that we remember from the previous installments.
However, this time, viewers get to see her join forces with an impressive group of females, with Natalie Dormer and Gwendoline Christie, known for their role in 'Game of Thrones', lead the pack, along with a new character, Lieutenant Jackson, who is played by Michelle Forbes of 'True Blood'. Elizabeth Banks returns as well, of course, as Effie Trinket.
"There is some serious girl power in this movie," says the director of the film, Francis Lawrence, who gives the credit to the author of the book series on which the films are based on, Suzanne Collins. "She wrote it that way, and it's been so much fun to inhabit."
The final chapter of the movies, is sure to have a lot of deaths, especially some painful sacrifices. Lawrence discusses the emotional nature of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2'.
"It's probably the most emotional of the bunch," says Lawrence. "And I think it's the most satisfying of the bunch."
In other words, viewers can expect that there will be a lot of tears shed for some of the most beloved characters in the franchise.
The film will also star Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Robert Knepper, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour hoffman and Donald Sutherland.
It will be in theaters November 20th, 2015.
