'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' News: Latest Posted Pulled After Expletive Spotted
The Hunger Games' official Twitter account pulled a poster that it had posted to promote The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 when fans pointed out that it accidentally splashed the 'c' word across Jennifer Lawrence's face.
The copy, which read: '100 Days Until The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2', was inadvertently designed in such a way that the expletive popped out at the eye and distracted the viewer from the intended intensity of the poster.
The poster was designed to commemorate the 100-day countdown before the release of the second part of the immensely popular follow-up to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
In this final installment, Katniss Everdeen, now the "Mockingjay," joins forces with District 13 to spark an all-or-nothing revolution against Capitol.
Lionsgate, the franchise's production company deleted the poster as quickly as they could, but it was too late. Social media exploded over the mistake, with some fans disturbed or annoyed at the oversight:
"Tell me that doesn't say c***? Dear me," from tweeter Lina.
"The new Hunger Games poster wasn't well thought through," Charlee wrote.
Other fans were plain amused by it:
"#HungerGames just dropped the c-bomb. Brilliant!" was tweeted by Rosalie Odtojan.
Many, however, were more forgiving:
"Over hearing about the Hunger Games graphic. Mistakes happen and evidently some ppl have way too much time on their hands," Hunger Games Fans wrote.
There has been no comment from Lionsgate about the graphic gaff.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 also stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. It is set to be released on 20th Nov. nationwide.
