The Hobbit 3 Spoilers, Rumors: Smaug Wreaks Havoc, Thorin Dies During Epic Battle

Spoilers reign rampant for The Hobbit's third installment entitled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, given that many have read J.R.R.Tolkien's books which the film is closely based on.

However, film directors and producers and been known to step away from the page in terms of novel adaptations. The following spoilers appear essential to the story and should be expected in the third installation of the series.

Beginning with some background, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), depicts the prominent Thorin as leads his army of dwarves onto the Lonely Mountain. But before that, they will have to go through leaps and bounds before reaching the ominous crag. They get apprehended by Elves, escape their imprisonment thanks to the ever reliable Bilbo Baggins, and find themselves on a not so enjoyable joy-ride by means of barrel in a rushing river, while Orcs feel at liberty to bombard the wooden cask with arrows.

The third installation, however, takes off where the 2013 film ended, with Thorin and his crew on the Lonely Mountain, Legolas fighting off Orcs, Gandalf the Grey and Bard the Bowman imprisoned, and the first appearance of the Necromancer who accompanies a distempered Smaug on his way to wreak havoc in Lake Town.

Here are some potential spoilers for the upcoming film The Hobbit: There and Back Again, all based off textual evidence in Tolkien's novels.

Bard the Bowman versus Smaug
Smaug will be burning Lake Town in the opening scene. Bard who was imprisoned was freed by an unknown character, thus, he scurried to fulfill his destiny - to kill Smaug. It is unknown exactly how Bard proposes to do it, but he'll surely meet his goal. There's still one last special gargantuan arrow that could pierce through a dragon's skin and it "might' be the way to go.

Thorin
For the fans of the movie, this spoiler is the mother of all spoilers. Thorin dies. At least that's what happened in the book, but again, Hollywood is known from changing major scenes of any novels or books they've adapted to the big screen.

Thorin Okenshield will lead his dedicated troop of dwarves deep onto the heights of the Lonely Mountain, but needs to sacrifice himself for the glory of the many, this of course, is after he gives Bilbo the Mithril armor.

On to the Elves
Legolas will face one of the toughest encounters of combat in the character's legacy. He will run after Bolg and fight with Orcs of different shapes and sizes. He would soon discover Azog and his army, thus, forcing Legolas to unite all - dwarves, men and elves - to fight a common enemy.

As for the romance bits, the love triangle of Killi-Tauriel-Legolas will still continue.

Also, King Thranduil, father of Legolas, will make amends for his terrible hospitality in "Desolation' and decides to lead an army to fight Azog and his Orcs.

The Battle of Five Armies
In an interview with On the Red Carpet, Richard Armitage who plays the role of Thorin hinted that "The Battle of Five Armies' will be epic.

"I think it will probably be quite a cinematic event," Armitage told On the Red Carpet.

Rumors have also surfaced that Frodo will appear in the movie.

The movie The Hobbit: There and Back Again is set to be released in December 17, 2014.
