The Hobbit 3 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Film to Launch Earlier Than Previously Scheduled
The final installment in the Hobbit Trilogy, The Hobbit 3: Battle of Five Armies, will arrive in theaters sooner than expected, the film is set to release on July 20.
A title change from There and Back Again to The Hobbit 3: Battle of the Five Armies has been officially announced. Rumor has it that there may be some slight discrepancies between what is depicted in the film, and what J.R.R Tolkien had written in his book.
Fans may also have had a say in what will happen in the film, they petitioned to keep Thorin Oakenshield alive, without regard for the major differences that would have to occur between the film and the original story. As it stands, no one knows for sure if the popular hero will see his demise in the upcoming blockbuster.
One thing can be said for sure, fans are dying to get a glimpse of Smaug, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who is a dragon that will be on the front lines of an epic battle taking place in the film.
Cumberbatch had this to say, "He's just legendary in the world of The Hobbit, and he is the ultimate dragon. He's an extraordinary creation in the book. And what we've all managed to achieve - especially the people at WETA, the post-production and sound facilities in Wellington - is extraordinary. It's another leap forward in cinema, as Gravity was - an environment you can believe in totally, and with the 48 [frames per second] it's extraordinarily real," he said to Den of Geek
The third installation will take off where the 2013 film ended, with Thorin and his crew on the Lonely Mountain, Legolas fighting off Orcs, Gandalf the Grey and Bard the Bowman imprisoned, and the first appearance of the Necromancer who accompanies a distempered Smaug on his way to wreak havoc in Lake Town.
Although, rumors warn that the movie might be slightly shorter than the two previous films, fans should still get excited for the epic finale to the trilogy.
