Last night's episode of popular Fox drama "The Following" was full of surprises. Many fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens next. In last night's episode it was confirmed that Claire Matthews is not dead. The actress who plays Claire, Natalie Zea, recently sat down for an interview with TV Guide, where she discussed Claire returning to the show.

"Well, in the episode, Joe sends out a video [message] that he's alive and I decide that enough is enough. If he is not dead, we need to do something about this, because I cannot live the rest of my life looking over my shoulder. So I say, several times, that I need to talk to Ryan Hardy. And then finally, I do...eventually," the actress said.

Zea also discussed how Claire and Ryan's relationship will play out in coming episodes. It seems Claire still has strong feelings for him.

"But he has moved on in a sense - he's had to," Zea said.

She went on to say that she is personally happy with the direction the Claire and Ryan plot line is going.

"I am really happy they didn't go the route of the jealous ex-girlfriend. Because that would have been crazy. No, Claire is on a mission now. She is not even confronting romantic feelings at this point," Zea told TV Guide.
