'The Flash' TV Series Release Date, Spoilers: 'Arrow' Spin-Off Could Be a Hit

DC Comics Superhero Flash is set to premiere in an all new television series on the CW Network this year October 7. However, fans have already been treated to spoilers and plot details about 'The Flash' long before its release date.

The newest superhero series to hit air on CW is actually a spin-off of the popular series, 'Arrow'. Much like most superheroes, Flash starts off an ordinary man, and in a strange turn of events adopts his iconic superpower of super sonic speed.

Actor Grant Gustin, will be playing the role of the young speedster in the new series. Additionally, as Barry Allen, the man behind the mask, Gustin will bring the viewers along on a journey though the Flash's past. Apparently, Barry Allen has a very dark past with which he struggles to cope with, even after receiving a super human speed boost.

In the series pilot episode, set to air October 7, the story of how Flash gets his powers is revealed. As the episode kicks off, young scientist Barry Allen tries to uncover the truth of his past and find out who murdered of his mother. In the episode, Allen will be seen working on a Wells particle accelerator that explodes and strikes him with a bolt of lightening which puts him in a coma for nine months.

It's only when Allen wakes up that he discovers that he has to ability to humanly reach speeds never thought possible. With his new powers, Flash will protect Central City from villains such as Weather Wizard (one of the main villains) on the upcoming episodes of the 'The Flash'.
