'The Flash' TV Series Release Date, News: DC Superhero Show Premieres October 7 [TRAILER VIDEO]
From the creators of 'Arrow' comes another superhero-based TV series entitled 'The Flash'. Inspired by the fictional comics, The Flash is Barry Allen's alter ego, a scientist who takes on a journey of being a superhero with an incredible speed.
Played by Grant Gustin, The Flash serves as the protector of Central City as he battles with forces of evil. In the trailer video shown by the network, The Flash comes face to face with Weather Wizard, whose alter ego is Clyde Mardon played by Chad Rook on the show.
"[The Flash] had a sense of humor, and a sense of awe of the things that were happening to him, and around him. You put that all together, and you just get a brighter show. And we wanted to contrast it from 'Arrow' -- and we were all big Donner 'Superman' fans. I've always felt that was the most iconic version of the bright superhero world," executive producer Greg Berlanti said.
This super villain harbors power from natural elements and turns them into devastating weapons of destruction against humans. 'The Flash' also meets 'Arrow' in the season premiere telling him that his powers are actually a gift to mankind.
'The Flash' TV Series premieres on October 7 back to back with 'Arrow' on October 8 on The CW.
