The Flash Cast, Rumors: Robbie Amell Joins CW Series as Ronnie Raymond

Robbie Amell has been recently confirmed to appear on CW's The Flash amongst the other DC Comics superheroes in Central City.

The Tomorrow People actor is reported to be reuniting with executive producer Greg Berlanti for CW's spinoff series The Flash, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Amell will play the role of character Ronnie Raymond, who is also the one-half of DC Comics duo Firestorm. He will first appear in the third episode of the Arrow spinoff as the fiancé of Caitlin Snow, played by Danielle Panabaker.

Raymond, who is a maintenance worker at S.T.A.R. Labs, is said to be playing an important part in the particle accelerator accident that turned Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, into The Flash.

"I'm so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on 'The Flash.' Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream. I can't wait to get started," Amell told THR.

In the DC Comics, Raymond joined forces with another character to create the nuclear-powered superhero, Firestorm.

It will be the first time that Raymond's character is introduced in a live-action show. However, he has already made appearances in several animated shows, including Super Friends: The Legendary Superpower Show, The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

"[Executive producers] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and I designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) - and to actually have someone with Robbie's talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can't wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out," said Berlanti.

Incidentally, Amell's cousin, Stephen Amell, plays the nominal character on Arrow.

Joining Robbie Amell in The Flash cast are Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett and John Wesley Shipp.

CW Network's The Flash is scheduled to make its debut on October 7 at 8 p.m.
