The Flash Season 2 Spoilers: The Reverse-Flash Returns, 'Thawne' Expects Surprises?
As the plot for the second season of "The Flash" thickens, EW recently got a chance to interview one of the show's big bosses to give out a couple of things that we need to know about the upcoming episodes of our favorite speedster.
For weeks, there had been rumors spreading about a possible return of The Reverse-Flash played by Tom Cavanagh. According to Comic Book Resources, there is no definite date yet and what episode we will be able to see the return of Reverse Flash. But the good news is that it's really happening! Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Reverse Flash will indeed make a come back in the upcoming episodes.
The 44-year-old executive producer also added that Eobard Thawne is a very valuable element in the story.
"There are some great surprises and some character interactions between this Thawne and all of our characters. Again, they all have the benefit of having enjoyed last season and he hasn't."
When asked if the speedster will be having a couple of new tricks up his sleeve, Thawne said that it is important for the protagonist not to learn to much moves or be to powerful for the story's plot to still be effective.
"The Lightning Throw was his big new one for this year," Kreisberg said. "The Flash can do a lot of amazing things, but like David Nutter, who directed the pilot, always said, 'You want to make sure he doesn't get too good at his powers too quickly, because then he becomes unstoppable, and it gets harder and harder for us to devise ways for him to be in trouble.'"
"The Flash" season 2 airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
