'The Flash' Premiere Live Stream, Start Time: Episode 1 'City of Heroes' Airs Oct. 7, Arrow Appears With Advice

'The Flash' is an upcoming American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, and will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 8/7c on The CW Network with the first episode entitled "City of Heroes."

The new series is based on a DC Comics superhero named Flash, who will be portrayed by Grant Gustin. In fact, the series will be a spin-off to another CW Network superhero show, 'Arrow,' which exists in the same universe.

'The Flash' storyline concentrates on the life of Barry Allen, a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who has a disturbed past. When he was a child, Barry witnessed his mother's murder and what's worse is that his father was wrongly accused of it. With both his parents out of the picture, Detective West and his family took the responsibility of looking after young Barry.

As Barry enters adulthood, he turns out to be a brilliant, yet socially sour, forensic scientist. His obsession with his mother's murder leads him to Harrison Well's particle accelerator. However, when the accelerator triggers an explosion, lightening strikes Barry resulting in a coma.

After he regains his consciousness, Barry discovers that he possesses the ability to move at superhuman speeds, thereby Flash is born.

Flash uses his supernatural powers for good not evil, primarily to protect Central City from the menace created by criminals. In his endeavors, Flash is helped by some close friends who are aware of his secret.

Yet, Barry is a greenhorn superhero and still requires advice for the "protecting the innocent" business he has taken under his wing. Fortunately for him, there is another superhero in the world and that is the Arrow, also unknown as Oliver Queen. The series trailer released by The CW shows Queen giving Barry some advice on how to be a better person, if not a better superhero.
