With the success of DC's hit show 'Arrow', CW Network is looking to expand their superhero action with DC's new show, 'The Flash'.

Enthusiasts who watched 'Arrow', can recall that Barry Allen already appeared in the series and has somehow capture Felicity Smoak's heart. In his own series, Allen will have to face this love dilemma with Smoak as he is forces to deal with another lover, Iris West.

It was also confirmed that Smoak will appear during the 4^th episode of 'The Flash'.

In the comic book story, Barry and Iris are an item and it appears that the TV writers are following this path. Barry will try to fight his feelings for his best friend which will make it even more complicated once Felicity Smoak comes in.

However, there would not be any catfights to win over Allen's affection, according to Greg Berlanti.

Candice Patton, who plays Iris, said in an interview at Paleyfest that her character wants what is best for Allen. Iris also gets along pretty well with Felicity. She also hinted that she might actually be the one to set up Barry and Felicity in the series.

Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teased that once the viewers see Iris, they would understand why Barry could not possible commit to Felicity.
