The Colbert Report Live Stream Free, TV Schedule: How to Watch Series Finale Episode Online [VIDEO]
'The Colbert Report' is set to air its series finale episode on Thursday, December 18, where the longtime parody late-night host Stephen Colbert will bid his popular news show farewell.
The final two episodes air this Wednesday and Thursday at 11:31 pm ET respectively on the Comedy Central network and can be viewed online through live stream via the link provided below.
On Wednesday's episode, Colbert will interview 'Redeployment' writer Phil Kay, while his last ever guest on the show (on Thursday night) will be Grimmy (aka the Grim Reaper).
As a result, some of Colbert's late-night colleagues expressed their thoughts about the 50-year-old Washington, DC native ending his series after 10 seasons.
"Our system is, if there's another nickel to be found in it, you keep playing that character...just beat it to death - and then do it another 10 years," said Conan O'Brien, according to the NY Times.
"You always have performers saying, 'I think I'll go out on top, while it's still great.' And then it's a sitcom, 'Who's the Boss?,' and it's the 18th season, and you're like: 'Tony, I like you, but ... .' This is one of the few times when a performer is saying, 'I want to get out while it's still great', and it's actually true."
Jimmy Kimmel echoed O'Brien's sentiment regarding Colbert's successful show and iconic character gimmick, which originated on Jon Stewart's 'The Daily Show' in 1997.
"I remember pleading with [their mutual manager James] Dixon to tell Stephen it was a terrible mistake to do a character the whole time," said Kimmel, according to the NY Times.
"That it wasn't going to last, and also not to name the show 'The Report' as a joke. It was just going to confuse everybody. And he did, anyway, and of course, it was a smashing success in every way."
Colbert will soon replace Letterman as the next the next 'Late Show' host when 'Late Show with Stephen Colbert' airs next year on the CBS network reportedly in May 2015.
