Blacklist Season 2 Spoilers: New 'Red' Teammate? Tom Keen's Return from the Dead
A new character is reported to be joining the hunt for Red in the second season of The Blacklist.
Those reports claim that a "ruthless Mossad agent" will be tracking former government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington, played by James Spader. Beyond that it has been confirmed that the new character will be a woman, according to TV Guide.
However, TV Guide also makes mention that things will turn out for the best as the new agent is likely to join Red's team. This is probably a popular guess as to why that will happen because there is a "vacant slot" on the agent's team.
Red's team was initially composed of Dembe and Luli, then the character of Mr. Kaplan was later introduced as Red's clean-up guy who is in charge of making evidence and bloody trails disappear. Red's old nemesis, Anslo Garrick, shot Luli to death in the mid-season finale, and if reports are right, then the new character will take the vacant spot left by Luli's death.
In the meantime, The Blacklist team is taking a break from tracking down the government's enemies to drop by 2014's San Diego Comic Con.
"INTERCEPTED TRANSMISSION: #TheBlacklist is coming to Comic-Con Saturday, July 26 at 1:45pm in room 6A," the series announced on Twitter.
Fans may have the chance to get some of their questions answered, even about the possibility of Tom Keen's return from the dead, which series creator Jon Bokenkamp is on the fence about.
"I hope [Tom returns]," Bokenkamp said, according to TV Guide, "Honestly, that's one thing that I'm not entirely sure how he will or may or could even weave into her life because it does feel like such a conclusion that this man entered her life, had a role to play and he's now gone... I'm hoping we can surprise ourselves with that."
