'The Blacklist', an American Crime TV series which was created by Jon Bokenkamp, primarily revolves around the lives of Red, an ex-FBI agent turned criminal, and the FBI agent Elizabeth Keen, also known as Liz.

Recently, Season 2 Episode 5 of 'The Blacklist' revealed that Liz was infected by a virus and admitted to the hospital. In the meantime, Red took to biological warfare with support from his friends at the FBI.

Stepping back to before Season 2 debuted, James Spader who plays Red, said to TVLine, "That story has not been extrapolated on. That's something to just let percolate for a bit," adding, "Elizabeth Keen has spoken of a memory of being in a fire when she was a child, and somebody pulled her out of that fire. She may be assuming that it's her father, but we've never said whether it's her father or not," reports Design Trend.

When asked how fans will react to the mystery, his answer was, "If the route is circuitous enough, the destination becomes less and less important."

Adding "I wonder whether that will continue to be the most important question that people ask as the show goes on, or whether the more immediate relationships and the nature of those relationships will eventually become more compelling. Given our show and what our show is, I don't think anything is as simple as it appears," reports Design Trend.

With that said, the next episode of 'The Blacklist' Season 2 airs October 27, and is entitled "The Mombasa Cartel."
