The Blacklist Season 2 Premiere Live Stream, Start Time, NBC Spoilers: James Spader Talks Red and Liz

The crime drama television series 'The Blacklist' returns to NBC for Season 2 at 10 pm EDT on September, 22.

Even before the Season 2 premiere, fans are waiting eagerly with high expectations and hopes that the hit show will provide answers to some of the questions that have been lingering since the Season 1 finale.

What fans really want to know is if Red Reddington (James Spader) is actually Liz's father. However, Spader has requested that fans be patient, as they will get the answers they've been looking for soon enough.

Speaking with a reporter last Monday, Spader told fans to temper their expectations about what 'The Blacklist' Season 2 will reveal in September. In fact, fans speculated that Red was Liz's father when they saw burn marks on Red's back in the Season 1 finale. As viewers can recall, Tom told Liz that her father is still alive, while he was slowly dying.

It may be noted here that Liz's father was reportedly killed in a fire while rescuing her. According to Spader, the answer will not be coming anytime soon, while casting doubt on whether the man in the fire was actually Liz's father.

"That story has not been extrapolated on," Spader remarked, adding, "That's something to just let percolate for a bit. Elizabeth Keen has spoken of a memory of being in a fire when she was a child, and somebody pulled her out of that fire. She may be assuming that it's her father, but we've never said whether it's her father or not."

Moreover, Spader hopes fans are just as engaged by the other questions of the series. He said, "I wonder whether (the father issue) will continue to be the most important question that people ask as the show goes on, or whether the more immediate relationships and the nature of those relationships will eventually become more compelling.

He went on to mention, "Given our show and what our show is, I don't think anything is as simple as it appears."
