'The Biggest Loser' Season 16 Recap, Spoilers: 'Double-Header' Week 3, Homesickness Sinks In

'The Biggest Loser' Season 16 Week 3, which aired September 25, appears to be the most difficult week for the contestants yet. The episode entitled "Double Header," brought with it the first signs of homesickness.

The episode shows the contestants facing two challenges including a nutritional quiz wherein they were given five minutes to make a note of all the nutrition knowledge they are familiar with in the Hall of Food n Stuff.

The winner of the Nutrition Quiz would receive a 2-pound advantage at the time of the weigh-in. In case the contestants provided any wrong information, their trainers would be forced to eat the amount in the margin of error. As in the case of Jessie and Dolvett, they had to gulp a slice of pecan pie which turned out to be 920 calories.

In fact, Dolvett had to make room for a burger and giant soda along with Jen. Unfortunately, Dolvett and Jessie were forced to eat egg rolls after that, despite the fact that they were stuffed to the brim.

The white team bagged the two-pound advantage prize, leaving their trainers with some heartburn late into the night.

In the second challenge, the contestants were required to cycle for 24.8 miles against high resistance and the winning team would be eligible for a 4-pound advantage.

Even though the competition was pretty much even throughout, the white team came out on top once again, winning the 4-pound advantage.

Winning the two-pound advantage from the first competition and the four-pound from the latter, the white team was given a choice whether they would take the four-pound advantage or opt for letters back home. The white team decided to go for the letters, which gave the red and blue teams a little wiggle room in regards to the weigh-in.

In the meantime, at the Comeback Canyon Weigh-In, the "second chancers" had performed better than those in the main competition. Maybe the motivation of almost losing it all ignited a flame beneath their feet.

All things considered, Week 3 was white team's week, as they weighed out from the danger of being eliminated. On that note, the blue team was once again sent to the elimination room, where everyone except Damien ran the risk of getting sent to Comeback Canyon.

Both Gina and Chandra were at the bottom, and only one of them could be a "second chancer." In the end, Chandra was tossed the extra vote, and the was sent to Comeback Canyon.

Week 4 episode entitled "The Lottery" will air this on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 on NBC.
