The Biggest Loser Season 16, Cast Rumors, News: Features Former Athletes, 'Comeback Canyon' Concept Added

The 16th Season of NBC's hit reality television show 'The Biggest Loser' will feature former amateur and professional athletes, as they try to regain their once muscular and toned physiques.

Subtitled 'Glory Days', the participating former athletes come from sports backgrounds that vary from professional major league football to amateur high school cheerleading.

As the title suggests, the athletes will stand against 'The Biggest Loser' test as they attempt to bring back the bodies of their youth.

In the forthcoming season, two new trainers will join Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince in helping the contestants achieve their goals. The two new trainers are Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom.

For the first few parts of Season 16, Harper will not be appearing at the ranch. The long-time trainer will allegedly prepare a camp in an unknown site for the eliminated contestants. That camp will be called "Comeback Canyon,"and will cater to the eliminated contestants as they continue toward their weight-loss goals.

Those successful at "Comeback Canyon" will have the chance to return to the initial competition.

Harper believes that the new concept will benefit the contestants of the show, "I think [Comeback Canyon] is going to come across as such a great and positive thing, and they're gonna have that moment of, 'Wow, I needed this second chance and now I'm really getting it.' ... It's going to be really cool, I think," Harper told Zap2it.

The 49-year-old trainer and author also indicated that the "Comeback Canyon" concept would give the audiences a "wild ride", and add an element of surprise to the contest.

"They'll come back in and say, 'Hey! You thought I was gone but I'm not,'" added Harper.

As it stands, Allison Sweeney will remain as the show's host. The 16th season of 'The Biggest Loser' will premiere on September 11, 2014.
