The eighth season of 'The Big Bang Theory' was confirmed on March 12, 2014, and is well underway. This season has 24 episodes, starring Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting as Penny, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrappali , Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz , Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler and Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom.

In Season 8 Penny has a new haircut, and Sheldon obviously has issues with that - which is a trend the series has been following for a long time now. Beyond that, Emily returns to the cast for this season, which is why it was so anticipated.

Knowing the show, it doesn't really have any solid story, its pure entertainment with just a pinch of story-rich content. Minor changes in the series, are fairly interesting, such as Sheldon telling Amy he loves her, the comic book store being re-built (Episode 04), and Leonard's surgery.

One of the main features of this season, are the appearances of the characters, and the plot-changing differences; Penny is busy with her job, and this causes severe problems in her relationships.

Sheldon also makes big changes in his life; he's hired as a professor for a well known institute, but is constantly under the stress of his relationship, this is however, one of the many layered elements of the season.

Apart from that, Season 8 is as funny and entertaining as ever, and viewers can expect a good laugh by the end of the season.
