Emotions ran high in the finale of "The Bachelor," which left fans of the two remaining lucky ladies at loggerheads.

In the final episode of "The Bachelor" 2016, Ben Higgins had to finally make a choice between Lauren B. and Jojo. It was a tough choice to make, as either choice could sweep one of the two ladies off her feet while breaking the other. Ben had previously professed his love for both ladies, so viewers were all spaced out as to what to expect.  

The episode began with Ben visiting both Lauren and Jojo with his parents. In the case of Lauren, Ben's dad said he saw "a twinkle in his eye" that's new. Lauren seemed at ease meeting Ben's father. She even told him she was in love and ready to get hitched. Mama Higgins, however, seemed to have found the idea of her son falling in love with two ladies at the same time off.

After Lauren, it was time for Jojo to meet Ben's parents. Without any reservations, she told Papa Higgins that Ben was the man she had been looking for. Her reason wasn't all that clear, but Mama Higgins felt that Jojo had the edge overall.

Following the meet-the-parents scene was Ben's final dates with both ladies. At first, Ben felt hesitant about choosing Lauren. He thought, Lauren had always been so perfect since their first date and he wasn't sure if that'd work out in real life.

His date with Jojo was a bit more tangible. They jumped into the waterfall and went all the way, and then they discussed their long distance relationship. Jojo brought Ben into the bathroom and had him admit to her how he really felt about her. Ben told her he loved her, but he loved Lauren, too. Those words threw cold water on Jojo, as well as on the viewers rooting for her, too.

When it was time to choose, Ben turned Jojo down and chose Lauren. All he wanted was to be true to himself, but this tore up Jojo's heart to pieces. She seemed to have tried her best to hold it together, though. Before she left, she was mature enough to come up to him and say, "I'm happy for you."

Ben wasn't totally in good spirits after making that choice, as he tried to hold back his tears while seeing Jojo leave. But as soon as she disappeared, he immediately got down to business and called up Lauren's dad to ask for his approval. He was ready to pop the question to Lauren.

Now, Lauren and Ben are engaged but nobody could tell if this would last for long. Fans can only wish for a really happy ending for the lovebirds off-screen.
