Dane DeHaan, who plays the 'Amazing Spiderman 3' villain Green Goblin, said that he's as much in the dark as the fans are about the upcoming 2018 Marvel blockbuster film. Also, franchise director Marc Webb previously announced in March that the 3rd film to series will be his last, although he later added that he would remain a consultant on the franchise's future projects.

Apart from the Green Goblin, rumor has it that a villain from the 'Amazing Spiderman' movie is set to return in the much awaited 3rd installment of the hit film series.

Rhino, who will be played by Paul Giamatti in the upcoming Spiderman spin-off, 'Sinister Six', is said to have been set for a comeback in the 2018 Spiderman movie. However, it remains unclear if the famed Marvel villain will be playing a major role in the Columbia Pictures project.

'Amazing Spiderman' writers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad assured movie fans that the Spiderman film franchise will be keeping Peter Parker as Spiderman, unlike its comic book counterpart where Parker seems to have passed the torch to Miles Morales.

Spiderman (Andrew Garfield) himself stated that he believed that Morales plays a key role in the Spiderman story, but is unsure if the film makers would ever consider adapting the storyline on big screen.

The 'Amazing Spiderman 3' movie was originally slated to premiere on June 10 of 2016, but Sony Pictures later announced that they had decided to move its premiere to 2018, to give way to the Spiderman spin-off 'Sinister Six' which is set to be released in 2016.
